Besides, this is Steelcase’s flagship model and the most ergonomic model in its product line, thanks to the Patented LiveBack technology.

This design ensures that the Steelcase Leap follows your natural spine curvature and can also adjust to your back when you’re moving.

Its ergonomic build is one reason why I think it’s the comfiest office desk chair on the market. Another reason is its headrest, which can adjust 2.25 inches vertically and adds up to 9 inches to the overall height.

However, this chair might not be great for petite users. One reason is the tall headrest, but the overall product dimensions also suggest that, especially the assembled 52+ inches adjust the height.

Still, the chair can support heavier users, considering that the Leap Plus is a weight capacity tested for 500 pounds. I like the Natural Glide System too, which offers a smooth range of adjustments – and I’m thinking mainly about the pneumatic seat height.

But I also like the separate controls which adjust lower back firmness and upper back force independently. While I like a firm seat cushion to prevent lower back sciatica pain, some users might find it somewhat uncomfortable.

This model is remarkably comfortable, especially as the back and seat are synchronized, so they both move together when you move.

You can also employ tilt lock technology and the tension control adjustment if you need your chair to move flexibly with your body movements. Tension control means the chair reclines or leans forward depending on how much force you’re applying to it.

There are other adjustments you can make to find a natural, ergonomic position. The cushion and headrest can be moved around as you want, to accommodate your height or special needs.

The spine support is contoured and can also be height adjustable. This support makes it comfy to sit in the Ergotech Ergohuman for hours at a time. Besides, you can also do height adjustment with resistant, easy-glide pneumatic cylinders.

The models above are all high quality, but they might be well over your budget. Don’t sacrifice quality for the sake of saving money though. The chairs below are all in the inexpensive category, but they can still pack a punch.

9. Topsky Mesh – Best Office Chair Under 200

.

The Topsky Mesh Computer Office chair is a value-for-money product. I like that it boasts lumbar support, so you can customize it easily and at the same time avoid back pain.

Another feature I like is its headrest. Including a headrest when designing an office chair is a user-friendly feature, especially as you can adjust this particular headrest in three positions.

The same goes for the armrests, which help you keep your arms tilted at a comfortable angle when you’re at your desk. The armrests and headrest minimize joint pain and muscle stiffness.

I couldn’t help but notice that other, more expensive office chairs, provide a wider range of adjustments. As it is, the Topsky is functional, but a basic model.

I found Topsky’s design user-friendly and comfortable. The high-density mesh upholstery is fairly resistant and breathable. As such, it can be used by people up to 330 pounds.

The 145° synchronous mechanism is another plus because you can lean back in this chair. The position lock provides extra stability, but you’ll find this chair doesn’t dynamically shift positions with your movements.

The Topsky sports a hanger on its back, to win some extra UX points, but it only has a 1-year warranty. While the chair might last longer than that, it doesn’t compare with the decades’ long life of Herman Miller’s Aeron.

Summary: The TOPSKY Mesh Computer Ergonomic Chair offers reliable support from your neck to your seat.

The BestMassage desk chair has reliable lumbar support because its backrest follows your natural spine curvature.

There’s a side control handle you can use to lean the chair forward and back, which helps you find a good position.

Although more expensive office chairs feature a natural tilting experience and dynamic movements, this is a basic functional chair.

The nylon lumbar support is another point in its favor. That’s because this material feels natural and breathable, while at the same time supportive.

It’s not a cushiony material with lots of padding, but the high-density foam in the backrest makes it soft enough to minimize back neck and shoulder aches. The seat is supportive too, so your thighs are parallel to the floor. All these features combine to improve posture.

That said, the backrest feels more ergonomic than the seat, which isn’t soft or cushiony. The advantage is that the seat won’t wear out with time, but it’s not the best chair for prolonged hours sitting down.

The disadvantage is the mesh material used for covering the chair seat because it can leave imprints on your bum. The armrests are supposed to be ergonomic, but they’re not this chair’s best feature.

Some office chairs have high armrests, but this one has them too low, which can mess with your upper back and shoulders in the long run. You can easily solve this issue with a pair of Velcro armrest pads, though.

Although this model is sturdy and reliable, it can only support users up to 250 pounds.

The Amazon pick, this Big and Tall executive chair is designed for American users. I appreciate the sturdy, commercial-grade components, thanks to which this chair can accommodate people up to 350 pounds.

The bonded leather material makes the chair look stylish and imposing. My experience with leather is that this material is prone to stains and rips.

It’s also not a breathable material like mesh either, so you’d better have an air conditioner that works in your office.

That said, I think that leather is a supportive, soft material. The plush padding makes this comfortable chair to sit for hours at a time, but the padding tends to wear out after a couple of years.

I also appreciate the lower-back support because it minimizes backaches and prevents stiffness.

The curved armrests feel comfortable enough, though I wouldn’t call them ergonomic because they don’t enable flexible movements.

The 360-degree swivel is a definite advantage because you can turn around without moving the chair.

However, the smooth-rolling casters allow you to glide your chair smoothly when you need to and don’t damage your floor either.

The best thing about this model is that it has a comfortable tilt with various locking adjustments. Still, it lacks the synchronous backrest-seat movement of more expensive office chairs.

Summary: With the required assembly and 1-year warranty, the AmazonBasics leather executive model isn’t the best on the market, but it’s well-made, comfortable, and stylish.

A nice leather recliner chair that would pair well with many pieces of furniture. This is a classic-looking leather recliner with standard upholstery. The faux fur trim is a nice touch. It’s also the perfect height to recline for comfort.

I purchased this chair over a year ago. It has been used nonstop, which is the case with all quality pieces of furniture. I always look for quality over quantity and as a 10-year customer of La-Z-Boy, I have found this to be true. This chair will take a beating, I have made it a household joke. If you’re a healthy person you will be sitting in this chair for a long time, and when you do move it, you will want to get up and stretch out, even when it is clean because it will just get comfortable on you.
